Project Partners
Centro Maya is an association that was born in 2004 with the parents from a small group of conscientious families, that felt the need was there to join together to give more special attention to the children and adults with disabilities in the Lake Atitlán area.
At this moment Centro Maya has more than 90 people registered with disabilities from different villages around the lake, of which between 20 and 30 come to the centre every day for teaching, therapy, games, group activities, and most of all, for a little piece of real human attention and love.
We are working with Centro Maya as part of our project in the village of San Juan la Laguna, to help give them some of the aid and support that they need to make this happen, and to work together towards a better future for the people that make the journey every week to be there.
