JUSTA (JUST AND SUSTAINABLE TRADE FOR ARTISANS) is a Fair Trade project dedicated to supporting And building a network of artisan groups, especially women, in the traditionally Maya areas of the Guatemalan Highlands. In Spanish, 'justa' means just or fair. We live up to our name by working directly with our producers in long-term commitments to provide living wages for their traditional crafts.
By empowering and uniting indigenous artisans through their common weavings and artwork, Justa aims to equip groups with the capacity to sustain their own production and development.
Artisans also have access to health and environmental awareness programs as well as interest-free loans for medical and educational needs. Justa and Soul Projects connect artisan groups to sustainable wholesale contracts abroad and spread the good word to consumers through vending at international festivals and markets.
As a conscious project, we love to share information on our products, artisan stories, Fair trade facts, and information on life in Guatemala with our community members. We are proud to represent sustainable products, producers, and production.
